The Spring Real Estate Market in Toronto is Blooming!

As the Beatles might say, it’s been a long, cold, lonely winter and our long hibernation may have left many of us bursting at the seams in more ways than one! Our pants might feel a little tighter and so too, the four walls of your home or condo. For those seeking more room to workout or simply a place to plant new roots, there’s no better time to go shopping with a real estate agent for your new “forever” home.  If spring inspired de-cluttering instead, perhaps it’s time to downsize. Whether you’re thinking big or deciding to downsize there’s nothing like the sight of sunshine to get us thinking about the state of the spring real estate market!

In a recent article culled from the Globe and Mail Report on Business, we’ve learned that “Canada’s housing market…is forecasting a strong spring” and conditions are ripe for continued momentum (in the) market. (1) If you’re contemplating a move you’ll need real estate agents with local experience.  We are your realtors in the Brampton, Mississauga, Caledon, Erin, Georgetown and Hills of Headwaters region. Realtors with over 32 years combined experience, we urge you speak to any of our current or former clients and find out why repeat customers are our specialty and nothing means more to us than a personal referral.

Business market analysts and the weatherman all agree, it’s been an unusually harsh winter but with warmer temperatures comes a warming up of the housing market.  With everyone stuck indoors for so long the spring housing market, typically the busiest time of year, has experienced a delayed start that ensures a “pent-up energy” and demand for housing (2) that needs to be met with listings, listings, listings! The good news is “house prices continue to post modest gains in urban centres around the Golden Horseshoe” while inventory struggles to keep pace. (3) Sellers should consider this news as a prime opportunity to do that spring-cleaning, freshen up the lawn and turn the flowerbeds making your home inviting for the spring hordes of prospective purchasers. It’s finally safe to open windows wide, welcoming the twin sounds of birds chirping and buyers bidding.

Spring isn’t just good news for sellers. In addition to the flowers blooming in Flowertown* “Brampton is one of the most affordable submarkets in the GTA.” (4) That means if you’re on a budget but spring has you dreaming of summer, green grass and a yard for the kids, now is the perfect time to think of upgrading. Interest rates are projected to remain low as we “March toward May” meaning these three spring months are an ideal time to lock in to a new mortgage.  Purchase your piece of patio now, ready to enjoy a bbq in your new backyard oasis. For parents, spring is a great time to buy with a summer moving date so your kids get acquainted with the neighbourhood, settled and ready to start school with new friends in September. As real estate agents in the Georgetown, Brampton, Caledon or Mississauga regions, put Realtors Ed and Roland to work “4u” today.

So whether downsizing or expanding, a little spring-cleaning means you’re already half way to leaving the old nest and feathering a new one. The crocuses are coming out in Caledon and in Erin, true to its Irish roots, the grass is turning green attracting tourists and prospective purchasers alike. The Maples are majestic in Mississauga, unaffected by the winter ice storm.  Go for a hike in the Hills of Headwaters or in the beautiful Georgetown and Halton Hills area and look for signs of spring, including those posted by iPro Realty real estate agents Ed and Roland Groenenberg, the twin dream team of www.twinrealtors4u.com. We offer individualized service in all of these locations because we live, work and play here too. Fight the winter bulge and step into spring! Come house hunting with Ed and Roland where we put our clients first in everything we do and we’re ready to spring into action for you!

*Did you know Brampton has affectionately been known as Flowertown for more than 50 years because of its long association with greenhouses and the flower growing industry?
